IAG Perth

One of Australia’s earliest examples of hybrid, flexible working post-pandemic, heralding a re-imagined workplace aligned with IAG’s purpose and vision.
This project is a result of Futurespace’s extensive workplace strategy and engagement of over 8,000 of IAG’s people across Australia to develop post pandemic hybrid working environments in 7 key locations. The Perth workplace was completed in May 2021 and was one of the earliest examples in Australia of this new post-covid typology.
The workplace interior aligns with IAG’s core values, and is centred around the Big Idea of Coming to Light; Reimagining the Meaning and Purpose of Work. IAG’s workplaces aim to integrate workplace behaviours, physical spaces and technology; supporting people in their working lives through compelling, collegiate spaces that seamlessly blend Working from Home with Working from the Office.
There is a collaborative ‘heart’ space that centres around an internal stair traversing the 3 levels. A diversity of work settings within Home Zones provides people with a great deal of choice between workstations, touch down areas, open and closed focus spaces and more.
The design concept embraces the idea of a new dawn and coming to light through layering of materials, laser cut forms, movement created by filtered light (both natural and artificial) and sliding and fixed screens. The space is lightweight but strong, without heavy materials, patterns or timbers.
In recognition of the constantly evolving landscape of ‘work’, the business took a ‘test and learn’ approach to this project, capturing lessons learned to support ongoing iteration of IAG’s workplace environments across Australia.
