Marinating a connected culture whilst providing a greater diversity of spaces for people to invent, innovate and collaborate.
Futurespace has a long-standing relationship with REA Group aka realestate.com.au since 2012, having developed numerous workplaces for the business across locations throughout Australia. This project is the latest in REA’s suite of workspaces that align the principles of lean and agile software development with a physical environment.
The REA Albert St Extension project is a building created adjacent to REA’s Australian HQ at 511 Church St Richmond with a skybridge connecting the two buildings through the existing café space in the original building, ensuring a single, connected culture for the business is maintained whilst providing a greater diversity of spaces and place for people to invent, innovate and collaborate.
The new workplace is an evolution of the existing environment in palette, built form and workspace methodology – remaining true to REA’s spirit and philosophy whilst at the same time addressing developing needs of a fast growing, innovative and agile technology business.
This plays out in the addition of greater quantities of smaller, tech enabled VC rooms, design references to residential construction methodologies, more diverse client experience spaces and work areas that are hackable, adaptable and flexible.
The look and feel is durable, practical, unpretentious with an emphasis on the connection to the street and surrounding suburbs of Richmond, situating the business within the landscape of their core business ie: residential property.
