A flexible environment designed to support a diverse workforce.
The project at 388 George St was a critically important project as it was the opportunity to bring the two parts of the organisation together in a shared space to enhance and drive the new organisation’s culture. This was seen by Aware Super as a unique opportunity to “create something new”, in every sense of the word as it relates to the workplace environment and behaviours, particularly as businesses navigate the post pandemic landscape to allow for a blend of work from home with work from office.
The design is centred around people and is an intricate network of private and public spaces, designed to support collaboration and communication with an overlay of security, culture and brand, and technology.
Technology is used throughout to enhance the experience. Touch screens, digital artwork and branding all combine to create an immersive environment for a variety of experiences and engagement with the fund’s members.
The atrium stair is surrounded by fluted glass with colour changing LED allowing for branding opportunities within the space that can be changed for a variety of events. Skyfold walls from the seminar rooms allow space to transform in minutes, with guests able to quickly and easily flow from a seminar into the event / social space.
In the workspace we have used the award winning Sakuru workstations system due to its inherent flexibility in relation to changing team needs on any given day. The height adjustable central disc base allows for easy change of clusters; a 4x pod workstation cluster can become an open collaborative meeting setting with just a change to the top.
Designing a suitable environment for a diverse workforce to support the organisation’s members has been key. The purpose of the workplace is to bring everyone together to serve a common goal – the fund’s members.
